Dr. Michael Houghton, Researcher, and Director of the Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute at the University of Alberta, has been awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Dr. Houghton and two other scientists had a crucial role in identifying the virus that causes hepatitis C.
