Excellent news! A team of researchers at the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute at the University of Calgary have discovered a way to stop the growth of glioblastoma, the deadliest form of brain cancer.
This discovery provides a new strategy for the medical community to consider, contain, and possibly destroy this fatal cancer. The finding, published in Nature Communications, involves reprogramming the immune system to do what it does best “fight the tumor instead of fuelling it”.
