Did you know a team of scientists from the University of Toronto is working to develop a treatment for vision loss by using retinal stem cells to restore vision? “This is extraordinarily difficult research, but we’ve seen some progress in restoring some vision in mice” says Molly Shoichet, a University Professor in the department of chemical engineering.
Shoichet’s team is one of 11 teams that are sharing nearly $21 million in funding over three years. These researchers are doing such excellent and promising work in the field of Medicine and innovation.
